There's a short story mode that's basically just a bunch of movie parodies giving you an excuse to beat people up in different locations - since it's just a series of arenas with normal gameplay, it's decent. There are a decent number of characters to choose from, though since this released after Shrek 2 the movie, there's more characters made for the game than characters from the movies (and most of these new characters are damn ugly). Shrek Super Slam: The most memed Shrek game, this brawler actually has a good amount of content. I think this helps to make each level feel more unique.) There is a decent variety of levels lots of beat-em-up and platforming, but there are rhythm games, puzzles, and other segments to break this up. Co-op as an option is always good, and there is a decent variety of characters to play (though you cannot choose what characters to play for each level. Shrek 2: Now we're getting to the good stuff! This is a solid 4-player gameplay experience, and my favorite Shrek game. Getting bugs was actually quite confusing, as different bugs were worth different values and stealing bugs from other players was frequent, and it didn't help that the minigames were dull because there wasn't a chance to screw over the other players in the games themselves, so they play the same most of the time. Shrek Super Party: Speaking of a series of minigames, this is a party game where 4 players compete to get the most bugs. This game is only maybe 2-3 hours total, but it couldn't hold my attention even that long. Although it's slightly closer to the spirit of Shrek (in aesthetics mainly, Donkey is still absent as with ShreksBox), the game itself is quite ugly and has really low frames (both of these are bad even for a PS1 game) and repetitive as it is basically a series of minigames. Shrek Treasure Hunt: Although this game came out after ShreksBox, it released on the PS1 only. Shrek himself moves too fast for a lumbering ogre, meaning you're falling off of stuff and bouncing off everything, and you can only pick things up for a short time, making this game a frustrating experience as picking things up and/or kicking them is pretty much 100% of the ShreksBox gameplay experience. The game is Shrek in name and protagonist only, and bears little resemblance to its corresponding movie.
